beintheknowri.com is a collaboration and partnership between many community and statewide organizations who support substance abuse prevention for young adults.

 

South Kingstown Community Partnership for Prevention
South Kingstown Community Partnership for Prevention (SKCPP) is a coalition that creates, supports, and provides leadership to the community by promoting healthy choices and abuse-free life styles. The goal is to reduce substance abuse by closing the gaps in underage access and use, by building on community strengths and developing working relationships with other community entities. The coalition consists of interested community constituents and stakeholders; such as: parents, school principals and other adminstrators, town government, school committee members, park and recreation officials, human service agencies, treatment agencies, business owners, health and medical community, university staff, and the religious sector.

Chariho Tri-Town Task Force
The Chariho Tri-Town Task Force on Substance Abuse Prevention is a volunteer, working task force comprised of individuals who are interested in substance abuse prevention issues in the Charlestown, Richmond and Hopkinton area. Comprised of school officials and teachers, prevention counselors, task force and youth coordinators, grant managers, concerned parents, police chiefs, and representatives of social service agencies, its goal is to provide the tri-town communities with services and technical assistance to promote healthier living. The organization promotes substance-free lifestyles through community events and by providing prevention services within the Chariho Regional School District for both middle and high school students.

Narragansett Youth Task Force
The Narragansett Youth Task Force (NYTF) is an organization dedicated to the prevention of substance abuse through the implementation of effective science-based substance abuse prevention programs and the availability of educational resources for the families of Narragansett. We collaborate with other community stakeholders in the school district, the police department, the University of Rhode Island and others with the purpose of reducing underage alcohol and tobacco access and the use of illegal substances.
Membership is open to all members of the public.
